Features

From first contact to the appointment

Kurato bundles what marketing and sales need day to day – without your contact data ever leaving the building.

Contacts, tags & segments

All your leads and customers in one place, neatly tagged and sorted into segments. The basis for targeted outreach instead of a scattergun.

Sales pipeline as Kanban

Drag deals through your stages and see at a glance which lead is up next. Nothing falls through the cracks.

Newsletter with double opt-in

Sign-up with confirmed consent, a clean unsubscribe and a preference center where recipients pick their own topics.

Multiple email providers

Send via the service of your choice: Brevo, Postmark, Mailgun, SMTP2GO, Amazon SES or classic SMTP. You stay independent.

Appointment booking with booking pages

A dedicated booking page per contact person with free slots, an ICS calendar entry, reminder and cancellation. Appointments without the back-and-forth.

GDPR-first & data ownership

Your contact data lives on your own server, not in someone else's cloud. No SaaS lock-in, no data handed to us.

Protected by the fleet

Newsletter sign-ups run as a Leadlotse form through Wellenbrecher when active. Bot subscriptions never even come into being.

Part of the hafenstudios fleet

Kurato works on its own and dovetails neatly with Leadlotse as a lead source and Wellenbrecher as spam protection.

Kurato Cockpit

Your CRM in the cloud – your data on your server

Kurato Cockpit turns the plugin into a team workspace in the cloud. Sales, assistants and external helpers work in a beautiful, fast interface on kurato.cloud – without ever seeing the WordPress backend. The contact data stays on your server.

  • A team workspace in the browser instead of wp-admin access
  • Kanban, contact profile, timeline, follow-ups and search
  • Accounts for staff without WordPress access
  • CRM data never flows over our servers – the browser talks directly to your site

The Cockpit is an optional cloud workspace. Kurato stays fully usable without it – no download, no obligation.

Data ownership isn't a feature, it's the foundation

A CRM collects the most sensitive data in your business: who your customers are and what they want. That belongs on your server, not in a US cloud. Kurato is built GDPR-first from the ground up.

  • Contact and campaign data stay in your WordPress database
  • Newsletter with double opt-in and documented consent
  • Email sent via your own provider, with your keys
  • Preference center: recipients control their topics and unsubscribe cleanly
  • Part of the hafenstudios fleet: one line, no external call into the blue

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What exactly is Kurato?

Kurato is a marketing CRM for WordPress. It bundles contacts with tags and segments, a sales pipeline as a Kanban board, newsletters with double opt-in and appointment booking – all right inside your WordPress, with no SaaS in between.

Where does my contact data live?

On your own server, in your WordPress database. Kurato is built GDPR-first: there's no SaaS lock-in and no data handed to us. Even with Kurato Cockpit the CRM data stays on your site.

Which email providers does Kurato support?

You send via the service of your choice: Brevo, Postmark, Mailgun, SMTP2GO, Amazon SES or classic SMTP. You add your own credentials and stay independent of any single provider.

What is Kurato Cockpit?

The Cockpit is an optional team workspace in the cloud at kurato.cloud. Sales and assistants work there in a modern interface, without access to the WordPress backend. The contact data stays on your server – the browser talks directly to your site. Kurato is fully usable without the Cockpit too.

Is Kurato free?

The Kurato core is open source under GPLv2 and runs on its own on your WordPress. Kurato Cockpit is a separate, optional cloud service with seats for your team – not a plugin download but an additional view of the same data.

What are Kurato's requirements?

WordPress 6.5 or newer and PHP 8.1 or newer. Kurato is part of the hafenstudios fleet and works together with Leadlotse as a lead source and Wellenbrecher as spam protection once they are active.
