Adjet Is Now in the Official WordPress Directory: Eight Weeks of Review, a New Name

Some announcements sound smaller than they are. "Plugin is now listed in the directory" is one of them. For you as a user, it means: from now on you install Adjet with two clicks straight from the WordPress backend, updates arrive automatically through the official channel, and an independent review team has seen every line of the plugin before it went live. For us, it means the fleet has its first official berth in the biggest plugin harbor in the world.

Why Adjet is called Hafenstudios Ads there

The short answer: so people recognize us. The WordPress.org directory lists over 60,000 plugins, and a made-up name like Adjet doesn't tell anyone anything there. The directory name Hafenstudios Ads – Ad Placement Manager puts the shipyard front and center: if you've found one plugin from us and are looking for a second, you'll find it through the shared name. Future fleet entries will follow the same pattern.

Nothing changes on board because of this. The code is the same, the settings are the same, and on this website Adjet stays Adjet. Only the nameplate in the directory is new.

Eight weeks of review: what got better

We submitted Adjet in early June. Then came what every plugin developer knows and nobody romanticizes: review by the WordPress plugin team. Thirteen rounds of back-and-forth over eight weeks, covering everything from security questions to naming rights to proving that we actually own our own domain.

You can tell a story like that as an obstacle course. The more honest version: it made the plugin better. For release version 1.8.5, among other things, we:

• switched all 462 source strings of the plugin to English so the international community can translate it — German now ships as a full, maintained translation from day one,
• created six English screenshots for the directory page that show the real feature set instead of glossy mockups,
• and cleared out a few loose ends nobody but us would ever have noticed — half-finished language files, for instance, that pretended they could handle Spanish.

Then go the official route from now on: WordPress backend, Plugins, "Add New," search for Hafenstudios Ads. No ZIP download, no manual upload, updates arrive automatically. As of today, that's the recommended path for the free version.

Using Adjet Pro?

Nothing changes for you. Adjet Pro keeps running through our own sales channel with its own license and update path, as before — all terms are on the pricing page. The directory version is and remains the free version, with its full feature set; the directory doesn't allow crippled buttons dressed up as features, and that's a good thing.

What this means for the fleet

Adjet is deliberately the first plugin we sent through review: the oldest, the most battle-tested, the one with the most installs. The experience from those thirteen rounds is now documented and feeds into every further submission — next up, Leadlotse is getting ready for the same path.
